Lena is a powerful play with music that tells the true story of Scottish singing sensation Lena Zavaroni.
When we meet Lena in 1999, twenty-five years after her unforgettable appearance on Opportunity Knocks, the glory days are long behind her. As she prepares to undergo a surgical procedure she hopes will transform her troubled life, her father, Victor, reflects on the journey that brought them to this moment.
From childhood stardom and remarkable success to a long battle with anorexia nervosa and depression, Victor's story reveals the triumphs, heartbreaks, laughter and tears behind one of Britain's most recognisable young stars.
Moving, thought-provoking and deeply human, Lena explores the hidden cost of fame and the enduring bond between a father and his daughter.
The play is being entered into the Kent Drama Association full length play festival and will be adjudicated on Friday 12th March.
